Karen oversees the maintenance and care of the LIA's eight gardens and the Lordship Bluffs.
Chair, Beautification & Parks Committee
From a young age my passion for nature began. Growing and nurturing wildlife and gardens has led me on a path of protecting our ecosystem by creating sustainable gardens.
After moving to Lordship 20 years ago, I began painting my pallet with perennial flowers. I’ve since retired after a 45+ year profession in nursing, now being able to have time to pursue my love of gardening and painting.
In 2017 my friend Emily Viner and I questioned if we could take “Captain Kidd’s Garden” to another level. And so we did! All perennial plantings which have been adored by all who visit, including our many pollinator friends. I look forward to sharing with others how we can work together to keep them thriving, while we beautify our community.
I am very pleased to join Lordship Improvement Association as Chairperson of the Beautification Committee. The importance of preserving our coastline on the Bluffs and creating gardens for all to enjoy is a journey moving forward.
Working together with the volunteers of these gardens and Bluffs is so very special. Their love of nature and the nurturing of our beautiful community is beyond words. So much has already been created and I am looking forward to all that we can do looking to the future together!
