ENJOY A SUNDAY LARK AT ‘ART IN THE PARK’- OCT. 5, 10am to 3pm

Everything that’s forecast for this Sunday’s (Oct. 5, 10am to 3pm) ART IN THE PARK at Greg Ackley Memorial Park in Lordship (the gazebo!) looks better than ever:

A clear, sunny sky … comfortable 76 degrees … and nearly 30 vendors including artisans of all kinds – fine art painters, blown glass, pottery, jewelry, wreaths, baskets, bags, fabric arts, photos, shells, small mixed media sculptures, quality food mixes, stickers, candles, sea glass art, dried and fresh flower art – and, of course, the LIA’s new 2026 “LORDSHIP BY THE SEA” calendar.

The Arts Alliance of Stratford will feature a kid’s creative area, and popular musician Larry Haddad returns to fill the festive air with a jazzy alto saxophone vibe at this fourth annual event.

Art in the Park organizer Pat Marqua also encourages attendees to bring non-perishable cans or boxes of food for a donation to a local food pantry.

Vehicle parking is ample around the park and on side streets, but people living nearby are asked to consider walking, biking or taking a golf cart to the event.

Greg Ackley Memorial Park is located in Stratford’s Lordship section, at the intersection of Stratford Road and Prospect Drive (across from Our Lady of Peace Church).

See you there!

I was more than lucky to have lived in Lordship! Most of my childhood years and memories are from the time my family lived there until we moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1968. Returned a few times over the years, 2016 being the most recent. The community is still as charming, beautiful and friendly as it always was. When I saw the calendar online it brought back so many wonderful memories of walking or riding bikes along the beach with friends! I just had to have it! Wish I could just blink and be able to attend all the wonderful events, especially the Arts and Crafts shows! Lordship will always have a place in my heart!

I’m so glad this event has been so popular and helped support our communities artists.
