Open the public, the Lordship Improvement Association's (LIA) Annual Membership Meeting will be held on Wednesday July 16, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Our Lady of Peace Parrish Hall (651 Stratford Road, behind the church). LIA members and neighbors wishing to become members are invited to attend. Come to the annual meeting to learn about our plans, offer suggestions, and get involved in the fabulous Lordship community!
Guest speaker at the meeting will be Stefan Martin, conservation manager with the Connecticut Audubon Society, and an expert in environmental and birding issues. Stefan is also a certified Master Gardener with extensive knowledge of both native and invasive plant life.
The meeting will also feature a presentation to the LIA by State Rep. Joseph Gresko of a $6,000 CLCC Climate Smart Planning Grant, helping to fund the LIA’s multi-year Lordship Bluffs Restoration Project.
The meeting’s agenda is posted below, and also at the LIA’s website here: https://bit.ly/LIAminutes
Along with committee reports, an update will be given on formation of the Motorized Vehicle Task Force, which is studying and seeking solutions to the issue of motorized vehicles on the Lordship Bluffs.
PS: If you don't know about the LIA, here's a brief review ...
Serving Lordship for over 100 years, the LIA is now a land trust created for the benefit of Lordship residents. The property we own is on Long Island Sound known as the Lordship Bluffs, including the nature trails and habitat below the Bluffs, and Russian Beach. All maintenance, projects and programs are entirely funded by donations from Lordship residents to the LIA. The Town of Stratford provides no funding or services. So every time you enjoy this beautiful property or walk or ride along it on Park Blvd., think about how your donation contributes to its maintenance.
In addition to maintaining the Bluffs, the LIA created and maintains eight community gardens in Lordship. See Gardens Map: https://bit.ly/LIAMAPGardens
2025 Membership Drive: Your membership in the LIA is maintained by annual donations. And we need and greatly appreciate your financial help to continue to make our slice of paradise beautiful. Here's where you can help: https://bit.ly/LIA-ToDonate
THANKS for your support!
