LORDSHIP IS SPRINGING WITH DAFFODILS

Icy temps may want to return tonight, but spring has definitely sprung with daffodils in Lordship this year – and they’re springing up more than ever!
The grid of daffs on the Lordship Bluffs by the flagpole is a favorite, of course. Initiated years ago by the Sammis family and carried on by the Foley family, it’s renovated and enhanced annually by the Lordship Improvement Association (LIA), which is the steward of the Bluffs and Russian Beach.
And new this year is an abundance of daffodils at street signs throughout the neighborhood – again, an LIA project last fall that will continue, notes Christine Griffin, chair of the LIA’s Environment and Education Committee.
“This fall after assessing what came up in spring, we’ll target any areas with gaps and street signs,” she notes. “And on behalf of all the pollinators, a special “Thank You” to everyone who planted daffodils on their streets.”
Karen Kochiss, chair of the LIA’s Beautification and Parks Committee also has her hands full (of bulbs) with the annual plantings.
Enjoy this delight of spring, and Karen’s and Christine’s photos.

BEAUTIFUL DAFFS. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE SPRING.
